Board Directors
CYRIL CHIANG (Chairman)
Cyril received B.S. in chemistry from National Taiwan University and Ph.D. in solid-state chemistry from Northwestern University. Cyril directed Li-polymer rechargeable battery project at ITRI which extended to the establishment of Synergy ScienTech, the first Li-ion battery manufacturer in Greater China market. In year 2000 Cyril became in charge of Philips for its Li-ion battery business in the region, until he co-founded ID Enabler continuing the innovative applications of battery and power technologies. Cyril has been an adjunct associate professor at Tsing-Hua University (Taiwan), authored and co-authored more than 40 papers and 10 patents, in addition to two popular books published in Taiwan and China on entrepreneurship and management.
JONATHAN ROSS (Director)
Jonathan has been involved in the securities industry in Asia since 1992, where he began his career in Asian equities with ABN AMRO Securities Asia (previously Hoare Govett Asia) as head of research in Taiwan. Taking advantage of his background in computer science (BA, cum laude Harvard University 1985) he quickly established himself as one of the top analysts in Taiwan covering the booming semiconductor and PC industries, and also during his tenure established ABN AMRO as the leading foreign securities firm in Taiwan in both the primary and secondary markets. In 1998, Jonathan was promoted to global head of tech research for ABN AMRO Securities. In March 2000, he joined Indosuez WI Carr as global head of tech research, then became head of Asian Technology Research with Goldman Sachs Asia. Presently Jonathan is Managing Director of Blackhorse Asset Management Pte. Ltd. in Singapore. Jonathan holds MBA degree from Harvard Business School.
JERRY CHEN (Director)
Graduated from Chemical Engineering Dept. of National Taipei University of Technology (formally National Taipei Institute of Technology), Jerry was the head of Digital Equipment Corp. (DEC) Taiwan for its procurement and supply chain, until he joined Printed Wire Corp., a leading PCB manufacturer, where he spent 12 years from factory manager to managing director. Jerry is specializing in IT manufacturing management.
GEORGE KUANG (Director)
George received L.L.B from National Taiwan University and A.M. of Inner Asian Studies from Harvard University plus L.L.M from Harvard Law School. George was the first Vice President of China Development Corporation (CDC) and founder of its overseas business department. After 1991 George was the Managing Director of China Development Fund Management Co. (Hong Kong). George also directed Silk Road Area Development Program between 2001 and 2002 for United Nations.
ROBERT CHIANG (Director)
Robert was the President and CEO of Radiantech Corp. which he co-founded in 1991. As a veteran in opto-electronic industry, Robert on behalf of Radiantech has coordinated VF-45 Taiwan Action Group Alliance with 3M innovative FTTx solutions, completed VF-45 (SG) active component business development with Honeywell and Infineon, and accomplished Taiwan SBIR project with alliance partners UniSVR, ISSC, Handlink, FameG in which they consolidated the definition of Hierarchical Unified Remote Instrument Framework. Robert holds BS of physics (Tung-Hai University) and MS of opto-electronic engineering and science (National Chiao-Tung University). Presently Robert is the President of POFC.
HEN-TAI SHANG (Director)
Dr. Shang founded POFC in 1991 after returning to Taiwan from AT&T Bell Labs where he spent 11 years on the development of various kind of opticav fiber for Data-com.,Tele-com.,and military applications. Since then Dr. Shang was a well recognized figure in optical communication industry. Among many others, he is currently the vice president of Taiwan Optical Communication Industry Alliance (TOCIA). Dr. Shang received Ph.D. in physics from Univ. of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and B.S. of atmospheric physics at National Central University. Presently Dr. Shang is the Chief Technology Officer of POFC.
JAMES FUH (Director)
James received EE master degree from North Carolina State University and BS degree from National Chiao Tung University in Taiwan. He was consultant of CIDC venture capital, country manager of British Telecom Taiwan, board member of Loop Telecom, sales director of CAMEO Communications, and account manager of NCR. James currently works in LCSI which markets industrial and optical Ethernet products.
S. C. HSIAO (Supervisor)
Mr. Hsiao had more than 30 years of investment banking experience where he overlooked CDIB and HSBC Taiwan in various divisions. Mr. Hsiao also conducted several business turnaround cases in Taiwan as well as in S. Korea.
ANNIE CHEN (Supervisor)
With accountancy background (B.S. Cheng-Chi University and M.S. Chinese Culture University) Annie started her career with Arthur Andersen Business Consulting in Taipei until company merged with Deloitte Consulting where she specializes in financial management transformation of general practice as well as merge and acquisition. Annie is currently a Director of Deloitte Consulting based in Shanghai.
